Never Give Up

We are again on a day off in Yoga Coach world, however my body is in the routine of rising early so I decided to do my own practice in the yoga shala. Standing in tree I looked up to see the giant picture of Ganesha - the Hindu deity who is depicted in the form of an elephant body and who is the remover of obstacles. I looked into Ganesha's loving eyes and asked for some help in removing my barriers, the things that get in my way of achieving greatness in the world, the limiting beliefs that I hold onto like an old favourite security blanket that is perhaps ready to be relinquished. And Ganesha whispered to me, he sounded the words "never give up".

Two things Mark teaches in moving along the pathway of life is to never give up and keep letting go - sound advice and he is not alone in his methodology. One of my favourite quotes from His Holiness the Dalai Lama is also about never giving up -

"Never give up, no matter what is going on, never give up
Develop the heart, too much energy in your country is spent developing the mind instead of the heart.
Be compassionate not just to your friends but to everyone, be compassionate.
Work for peace in your heart and in the world.
Work for peace and I say again never give up.
No matter what is happening, No matter what is going on around you, Never give up."
-His Holiness the Dalai Lama

I love it as it says to me that their will be good times, there will be tough times, but to continue on, whatever the adversity in life. People who achieve greatness in the world did not say no, that is too hard, I can't do that because.....they said yes, let's give it a go, why not, and they were not afraid of falling, of landing on their face or the other horrendous f word - failure. They showed no fear and carried on despite it all. They tried, and fell, they got up and tried again. They showed heart and courage and are an inspiration to us all. It acknowledges the reality of life and that we will face times when we feel like shit, that we can't seem to put one foot in front of the other and we wonder why we are bothering at all. I heard somewhere that Thomas Eddison tried 50 000 times before reaching success - so I am guessing when the 48 356 time he didn't succeed he didn't sit down and say, lets give it a rest, I am done. He never gave up. So the advice from Mark, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Ganesha is ringing in my ears, and I vow to myself to follow in the footsteps of the believers and of the achievers, and I will never give up.

Here is just a small story about the power of belief and faith, and never giving up....watch Arthur as I think he sums it up
